- Looking to hire an Automation Engineer II to join our Engineering Manufacturing team in Fort Worth, TX.
- As a Automation Engineer II, you are responsible for managing facilities, equipment, and personnel to manufacture medical device products in a way that ensures a safe workplace, complies with established standards and procedures (e.g., cGMP and SOPs), drives growth, and optimizes and improves the manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manages the installation of automation systems while ensuring safety, and validating the automated system for adherence to requirements, CGMPs, and intended system operation.
- Supports Automation Technicians in situations where troubleshooting or technology may fall outside of their area of expertise.
- Interacts with production supervisors/managers to identify areas to improve equipment throughput, flexibility, quality, safety, and/or reliability.
- Plans and executes engineering project work with minimal supervision.
- Troubleshoots equipment/process control systems and change control activities.
- Programs PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems. Specifically A-B PLCs and Ignition SCADA.
- Designs and implements modifications to the existing manufacturing equipment that will improve the operational efficiencies.
Specifically, we are hiring for an OEE Engineer:
- The Manufacturing OEE Systems Integration Engineer is responsible for designing, deploying, and sustaining Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) systems across manufacturing operations.
- This role bridges manufacturing engineering, controls/automation, IT/OT, and operations to enable real-time performance visibility, accurate downtime classification, and data-driven continuous improvement.
- The engineer will work closely with production, maintenance, controls, IT, and leadership teams to integrate machine data, configure OEE metrics, and ensure adoption of the system to improve availability, performance, and quality.
OEE System Design & Deployment:
- Lead the end-to-end implementation of manufacturing OEE systems, from requirements definition through production rollout.
- Configure OEE software platforms (commercial or custom) including data models, dashboards, KPIs, and reports.
- Design machine connectivity architecture (PLC, sensors, edge devices, historians) to collect accurate production and downtime data.
- Ensure consistent OEE logic and metrics across lines.
